Neal Nelson founded Creative Cabinetry in Gilroy, California, with a vision to serve homeowners, contractors, property managers, and real estate investors throughout the entire Bay Area since 1999. We specialize in breathing new life into existing cabinetry and creating custom pieces using the finest natural materials.

The Birth of Creative Cabinetry

“In 1994, I noticed a 1957 sidewalk that had stood the test of time. Inspired by its quality, I decided to build a company proud to showcase its work. Creative Cabinetry was born.” — Neal Nelson.

A Lifelong Passion for Building

Neal’s fascination with building began in childhood—crafting boxes with secret compartments and even a homemade fishing boat. Over the years, his skills evolved to sophisticated cabinetry creations, mastering wood finishing, precision planning, and power tool craftsmanship. A breakthrough project—custom cabinetry for a U-Haul RV conversion—demonstrated his skill and led to referrals from contractors throughout the Bay Area. That’s when Neal realized he belonged in the cabinet manufacturing community.
